December 2, 1885, Zeng Jize reported that given British Army captured Burma's king Thibow, China should take this advantage to capture the commercial town Bahmo. Regarding the conquest of a state of her tribute system, China's inside opinions were diversified. Zeng Jizeng's argument was eventually not taken seriously. Although China recognized the established truth and let it go, Zeng's proposal showed that traditional China had also the facet of realism.
