January 28, 1932, Japanese army attached Shanghai. This is later called 128 event. The battle continued for over a month. During the battle Japanese air force bombed and destroyed the Commercial Press. One of the results is some important journals stopped issuing. Lady's Journal is one of them. Lady's Journal is one of the most important journals for women in modern China. The institute once organized a conference specifically on the journal. The research results could be found in our Research on Women in Modern Chinese History 12, Special Issue on Journal of Women. Furthermore, we edited its complete table of contents, and produced a database to publicize on web, so that scholars could use them freely.( Ladies' Journal Database )
