March 1, 1930, Hangzhou held the method to abolishing prostitutes by drawing lots. From the viewpoint of government, the prostitute is crime and objects to be controlled. On the other hand, most prostitutes are not volunteer to choose the occupation. Every single prostitute has her specific life course to become so. In the past, historians tended to ignore the individual aspect. However, nowadays scholars tried to present personal life story in history.
