Abstract:
Twelve interviews with senior research colleagues, management personnel, and members of Academia Sinica’s neighboring community depict the lives and experiences of the so-called “elite” and “common people”. These oral histories can help us gain a better understanding of one of modern Taiwan’s research communities (Academia Sinica), the formation and development of its campus at Nangang, and the interactions between its research staff and the local community.
