Dr KJ Chen’s book, Charting America’s Cold War Waters in East Asia: Sovereignty, Local Interests, and International Security, has been awarded the John Lyman Book Award in World Naval History from the North American Society for Oceanic History. This prestigious award, named in honour of Professor John Lyman (1915-1977) of the University of North Carolina, recognises outstanding scholarly works that significantly contribute to the study and understanding of maritime and naval history.
