    Abstract:
The anti-British movement in the aftermath the May Thirtieth Incident in 1925 was epoch-making in modern China’s foreign relations. This campaign evoked international attention and caused historical change only because, according to the author (Jianming Li), the Chinese people came together as a nation to support the struggle. The book begins by describing the origins and experiences of the tragedy, and then follows with an analysis of the contribution of the masses across China in order to understand the various implications that arose from educating and mobilizing the people as a collective whole.
