    Abstract:
Shi (Shih Chang-Ru) entered Academia Sinica’s Institute of History and Philology in 1934. His detailed reports on the remains of Yin period buildings broke new ground in research into Chinese ancient buildings. He was also involved in Neolithic archeological investigations in Henan, Shaanxi and Gansu and other places. After relocating to Taiwan, he achieved more success unearthing ancient Taiwanese cultural sites and was made an Academia Sinica academician in 1978. He has reached the advanced age of 102, and still goes to work in his research office every day, working hard and not slacking off in the slightest.
