    Abstract:
This book is an academic autobiography that records the extraordinary academic career of Chinese scholar Ho Peng-Yoke. The author transformed from a physicist who learned English from a young age into a humanities scholar renowned in Asian cultural circles. With his unique vision and wisdom, Dr. Ho boldly travelled widely in Europe, Asia, Australia and North America engaging in inter-disciplinary, cross-cultural research, winning the affirmation of international academic circles. What people most delight in talking about with to regards Dr. Ho is his half a century of cooperation with Dr. Joseph Needham and his 12 years as director of the Needham Research Institute at Cambridge University after succeeding Dr. Needham. In the preface to the final book in the series “Science and Civilization in China,” Professor Mark Elvin wrote: “Ho has long piloted the ship (the Institute) through difficult times.”
