October 26, 1905, the Hejian Military Drill was finished with perfect ending. This is Chinese army's first great scale military drill after the Eight Nation Alliance. Foreign media highly evaluated this drill. However, from the drill Manchurian elites was too impressed with the power of the Beiyang Army to waive the apprehension toward Yuan Shikai. Thus the drill also agitated the conflicts within the late Qing court.
