November 3, 1908, the Qing court granted the visiting Dalai XIII with a special honored title, and urged him to go home immediately. As a multi-ethical empire, Qing utilized Tantrist Buddhism to maintain its relationship with Mongolia and Tibet. The connections could be traced back before ruling China.
