 Hand press on which the first issues of North China Harald were printed

August 3, 1850, North China Herald was first issued. North China Herald is the first newspaper in the modern sense in Shanghai. It is also a very important material for modern history. One of the users is our research finding: Sun Huei-min, "The Introduction of the Western-style Lawyers in the Late Qing".
