January 31, 1948, Shanghai's dancing girls and relevant employee, as many as 3000 people, petite for the exhibition of dancing. They destroyed the office of social bureau. About 400 people were arrested. Related to Kuomintang authority's suppressive attitude, Shanghai's entertainment business was flourishing during the Sino-Japanese War period. This phenomenon became a hot topic for the issue of "War and Culture".
