Abstract:
Ting was one the main figures who participated in the Self- Strengthening Movement. He was possessed of extraordinary ability, but from another perspective, all of the difficulties and setbacks which he suffered are also entirely evident. Overwhelming pressure and difficulties meant that Ting 's ideals and vision could not be fully realized. However, through his determination, he had many achievements that will never be forgotten. Since his achievements, difficulties, and frustrations were so closely related to the Self- Strengthening Movement that researching his life, of course, helps acquire an understanding the whole Self- Strengthening Movement.
