Abstract:
In the early years of the Republic, Outer Mongolia had once been independent at the instigation of Russia, but then reverted to being under Chinese control once again; why did this happen? This book analyses and discusses three levels: national identity, the unification and independence dispute, and negotiations about Outer Mongolian sovereignty. “The Principle of the Chinese World Order” is the author's own creation, and is also the research framework for this work, used to observe and examine the role played by traditional political culture in China-Outer Mongolia independence and unification dispute and the process of unification and separation.
