    Abstract:
Lin Hengdao (Lin Heng-Tao) was a member of Taiwan’s “first family,” the Lin clan of Banqiao. After Retrocession (the recovery of Taiwan by China), he successively served on the KMT Taiwan Party Committee and Provincial Documents Committee. He was highly knowledgeable and studied Taiwanese historical sites and documents tirelessly for decades. He laid the foundation for the flourishing of Taiwanese modern historical research.
