Abstract:
Zhan Tianyou was one of the first group of young Chinese students sent to study in the US in 1872. He became famous throughout China and the world for building the Beijing-Zhangjiakou railway in the latter stages of the Qing Dynasty. He is still regarded as a master engineer in engineering circles to this day. This book contains 12 articles on Zhan and Chinese railways and a number of precious photographs.
