Abstract:
This book was originally a report for a research survey commissioned by the Ministry of the Interior of the Netherlands and carried out by Documentation and Research Center for Contemporary China, Sinological Institute, Leiden University and was compiled by Mr. Frank N. Pieke. Most of the material is archives, statistics and field interviews and other first hand material. It remains one of the most important books about the current state of Chinese in the Netherlands and is of great reference value for understanding Chinese emigration to the Netherlands and the structure of Chinese family and society in the country.
