Bai Yu joined the KMT in 1920; in 1925 he studied abroad at Sun Yat-sen University in Moscow. In 1948, he was elected to the Legislative Yuan; after coming to Taiwan he proposed a plan of “restructuring of agriculture along enterprise lines”,which caused a great stir. In 1959, he began work as a professor at National Cheng-chi University. This book discusses the May 4th Movement in Hunan, the character and rise of Mao Zedong (Mao Tse-tung), and his observations of Russia during the time he studied there.
