Abstract:
Ding was a relative of Ting Wenjiang, the former director general of Academia Sinica. During the war against Japan, he and Ding Wenhao (Ding Wenjiang's younger brother) worked in import trading and transportation in the Burma, Vietnam and Yunnan areas, bringing in a large quantity of materials for China. He came to Taiwan in 1949 and operated an import business.
