Abstract:
Lin (Lin Chin-ching) served as the deputy representative in Japan, representative in Japan and chairman of the East Asia Relations Commission and in other commission posts. On the basis of his legal expertise and diplomatic skills, he did his utmost for Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations for more than 40 years, in which time he enjoyed a deep friendship with Japanese political leaders and many of the elite. He has helped lay good foundation for the maintenance of practical relations following the official severing of relations between the ROC and Japan.
