Abstract:
Ten years after the May Fourth Movement, the Chinese student movement continued to surge forward. “Each period of politics produces the student movement of its generation; this period’s student movement reflected a generation of politics.” At this time in the history of student movements, idealistic students “shed their immaturity to fulfill important responsibilities.” The student movement encountered a setback, but at the same time, with the emerging mobilization of the GMD, the party incrementally increased contact with students, until it finally transformed the student movement into mobilized students.
