Abstract:
This book contains handwritten letters of famous people of the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican period collected by the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi, Yuan Shuxu and his son Siliang, all never made public. The letters are truly valuable, many concerning political matters in the early years of the republic, for example the inclusion of prominent figures from the Qing Dynasty in parliament, begging for pay and provisions for the revolutionary army by Huang Xing in 1912, Liang Qichao’s election as party leader and other unknown party history, having great reference value.
