摘要:
「中日和平條約」顧名思義是中華民國與日本兩國之間所簽署的雙邊條約;但事實上,卻是美國為了落實圍堵思維一手主導的產物。其目的在於有效封鎖共產主義在亞太地區的擴張。美國不僅要扶植中華民國政府能在台灣立足,更要杜絕日本與中共建交的可能性。故一部「中日和平條約」的簽約史,亦可視為是一部美國亞太安全體系建構史的縮影。為闡述此一三角互動的演變過程,本書聚焦於美國在幕後運籌帷幄的經緯;並從中華民國及日本兩國政府在美國所建構的安全體系中的定位及角色,重新省思和約得以成立的國際時代背景以及和約在確保中華民國政府的法統地位、強化台灣地區的安定、落實美國亞太安全體系所具的重大意義。
