摘要:
宋王臺(又稱宋皇臺)為香港少數有文獻記載與皇權有關聯的名勝,其承載的歷史與象徵意義隨著社會時代的轉變而產生變化。一八九九年在華人菁英推動下港英政府立法保存宋王臺。自始,此地便從一坐小荒山修葺成清代遺老與民國文化人憑弔的聖山,又從旅遊景點發展成戰後的紀念公園。二十世紀期間,不同社群透過遊覽、研究和記錄建構和延續宋王臺的論述和記憶,而勝蹟的地理範圍和位置亦相應產生變化,使其成為記憶與歷史產生互動的「記憶所繫之處」。本講座以簡又文主編的《宋皇臺紀念集》為切入點,分析冷戰時期在殖民地重啟宋王臺記憶的意義,探討個人主觀的地方記憶與想像如何透過文字與圖像的呈現被重新編輯和賦予新意義,在當下激發「懷古勵今之情緒」和國族情感。
